Take extra time to plan for the safety of all in agriculture.

Agriculture is one of the most dangerous industries in the nation. Each year, more than 2 million youth under the age of 20 are exposed to farm-related safety hazards. As a result, a significant number of young people are killed, injured, or permanently disabled on farms in the United States. This webinar, hosted by Illinois AgrAbility, will share research, work guidelines, and ag safety programs surrounding youth safety and health in agriculture.

About the AgrAbility Spring Webinar Series

Farmers and farmworkers have always been the backbone of America. The state of Illinois includes 72,650 farms that cumulatively harvest over 27 million acres and are operated by 118,000 producers. The work involved is not only the farmer’s livelihood but also their way of life. This educational series is geared toward agricultural producers, farm workers, Extension professionals, farm families, and those who work in agricultural businesses.

The final webinar session in the spring series will take place online from 12 to 1 p.m. on April 4. Each month covers a different topic and will feature experts from Illinois Extension and partnering public health and agricultural organizations. The live webinars are free, but registration is required per session.
