Explore aquaculture and diverse row crops.

McLane Farms is a 3,000-acre diverse farming operation. Mitchell and Amy McLane, along with their children raise corn, soybean, sorghum, and rice and have several ponds where they produce upwards of 75,000 pounds of largemouth bass yearly. During the 18 years the family has produced fish, the farm has expanded to include eight ponds equipped with automatic feeders, cameras, aerators, and oxygen buoys. Because of the farm location, the McLanes have been able to diversify their row crops to include rice, which is ideally grown in low-lying ground that floods from the Mississippi River.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. To register for any (or all) of the meetings in this series, go to go.illinois.edu/twilightseries or call (618) 695-2441.
