A Matter of Balance: March 3–26, 2026
A Matter of Balance is a nationally recognized program designed to help older adults reduce their fear of falling and increase their activity levels. Many adults limit their daily activities due to concerns about falling, which can affect their confidence, mobility, and overall quality of life. This in‑person class series provides practical strategies to manage falls, build strength, and stay active with confidence.
Participants learn to view falls as controllable, set personal goals for increasing activity, make simple changes to reduce fall risks at home, and practice exercises that improve balance, flexibility, and strength. The program is ideal for adults 60 and older, anyone interested in improving stability, those who have experienced a fall, or individuals who have begun avoiding activities due to fear of falling.
Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 3–26, from 9–11 AM at the YMCA Senior Center of McDonough County. This supportive, interactive series helps participants stay independent, active, and confident in their daily lives.
