2026 Lake County 4-H Public Speaking Contest

Want to build your public speaking skills?

Join the 4-H Public Speaking Contest! This is your chance to share your voice, gain confidence, and get helpful feedback in a supportive environment.

Youth ages 8-18 can compete in one of four divisions:

• Formal Speech: Motivate, persuade, or inform on a topic you choose
• Illustrated Speech: Use visuals or audience participation to engage your listeners
• Oral Interpretation: Perform a published work or manuscript
• Original Works: Present something you’ve written yourself

Ready to step up to the mic? 

Speaking participation is for current 4-H members only. Not a member but interested in joining- please contact your local Extension Office. 

This event is open to the public. Stop by and support these young speakers! No need to register if you are coming by to support.
