At every family gathering, you get the same request: “Please bring THE rolls.” It’s your signature side, and word has spread that your dinner rolls are the best. Maybe you've considered turning your baking hobby into a business, but where do you start? Extension has the resources you need to become a Cottage Food Seller.
It is important for Cottage Food sellers to stay up to date on all of the latest requirements and changes. Not just for the benefit of your business, but also for the safety of your customers. Whether you are a new or established seller, let Extension help you stay on top of the things you need to know. Join Extension educator, Bronwyn Aly, for an evening of Cottage Food updates and information. This session will be a great place to meet other local cottage food sellers and get answers to your questions.
Program topics will include:
- Overview of the Cottage Food law and how to become a Cottage Food seller
- Updates on point of sale and allowed food and drink
- Resources from Egyptian Health Department and Illinois Extension
The program will take place at Southeastern Illinois College, Building G – Room 120 on March 31 from 6 – 8 p.m. There is no fee to attend, but registration is strongly encouraged.
This program is presented through a partnership between Illinois Extension, Southeastern Illinois College, Illinois Small Business Development Council, and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
