10-11:30 a.m. - Participants will travel to Washington University & The McDonnell Genome Institute (MGI)
The McDonnell Genome Institute (MGI) was established in 1993 as the Genome Sequencing Center, initially focusing on large-scale sequencing projects. They play a key role in developing genome mapping and sequencing techniques that would later be applied to the Human Genome Project. Robert (Bob) Fulton is an Assistant Professor of Genetics at Washington University Medical School and the Director of Technology Development at the McDonnell Genome Institute will be on hand to provide us information about his career and the inside scoop to the field of health science.
 
We will break for lunch at West Port Plaza. Participants will be responsible for paying for their lunch or bringing a lunch.

1-2 p.m. - Rawlings Experience at Westport Plaza. Rawlings, the number one baseball brand worldwide offers a truly memorable, immersive experience at its new world headquarters location. Visitors can swing the latest Rawlings bats, design their own custom glove, or explore priceless artifacts highlighting the game’s greatest moments and careers. We will be able to see first hand the many careers in the sports field that Rawlings offers. 

Open to 4-H members in Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery counties.
