Ofelia Delgado is the 4-H Program Coordinator for Lake County. She has been with the University of Illinois Extension since 2009, previously serving as a SNAP-Ed community worker. Although new to Lake County 4-H, Ofelia is a strong advocate for youth development and is dedicated to promoting and implementing youth programs in schools and communities across the county.

Ofelia plays a key role in connecting potential 4-H members with community clubs, ensuring that children have the opportunity to gain experiences, expand their skills, and give back to their communities. She firmly believes in the potential for growth that these opportunities provide.

A life-long resident of Lake County, Ofelia is passionate about empowering youth. She encourages the development of social and communication skills through workshops and hands-on training opportunities. She recognizes that these opportunities are made possible through the involvement of volunteers, community leaders, and diverse organizations.

Ofelia offers 4-H Signature Programs to community partners in English as well as Spanish. She also enjoys starting local SPIN (Special Interest) Clubs to help youth explore new interests.

In her spare time, Ofelia enjoys hiking, geocaching, cooking, baking pastries, working on puzzles with her son, and is an avid reader
