Terri Casey

Terri Casey brings extensive experience in education, marketing, public administration, and community engagement to her role with University of Illinois Extension. Her career began in secondary education before she transitioned into marketing and digital communications, where she helped implement early online auction technologies and later operated her own design and marketing firm for more than a decade.

She has also worked in local government, supporting election administration and contributing to cost‑saving process improvements. Prior to joining Extension, she managed publicity and outreach efforts for a multi‑county service area, strengthening community awareness and engagement.

Terri holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Community Planning from the University of Illinois Springfield, along with a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a member of the Pi Alpha Alpha Public Administration honor society and has been recognized for her leadership and academic achievement.

Throughout her career, Terri has been actively involved in community and economic development initiatives, serving in leadership roles with several regional organizations and chambers of commerce. She is passionate about helping communities solve problems, expand opportunities, and build stronger futures through education and collaboration.

WHAT WE DO AND WHY IT MATTERS:

Terri Casey provides leadership to Extension in Logan, Menard & Sangamon counties, where she manages financial and personnel resources, as well as provides organizational and programmatic leadership.  She establishes relationships with diverse audiences and partners with individuals and organizations to improve the lives of people and communities in the counties she serves.
