TAYLORVILLE, Ill. – Local business, Christian County Farm Bureau was nominated by Christian County Extension for the 2021 Community Partner Award. Christian County Farm Bureau was selected for their exemplary service to University of Illinois Extension. Throughout the years they have continued to support the agricultural literacy program and provide trophies and awards for the 4-H livestock shows. “The Christian County Farm Bureau has always been very supportive of the ag literacy program, not only monetarily, but also with community support such as volunteers! We are truly grateful for everything they do for us,” said Rebecca Livingston, Christian County agricultural literacy program coordinator.
This award is sponsored by Extension Council of University of Illinois Extension serving Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, & Montgomery Counties. The council plans to recognize a community partner each year throughout our four counties. Extension Council is a volunteer board, which serve in an advisory role cooperating with Extension staff in planning, promoting, developing, implementing, evaluating, and financing an Extension program designed to meet the needs, interests, and resources of the local communities served.

They help with financial support, host sites for programs, and promote our programs to the public and those they serve,” said Amanda Cole, Extension county director.
