ALBION, Ill. – Technology and research in agriculture are constantly progressing, and University of Illinois Extension provides the information and resources to stay up to date. The Southeastern Agronomy Summit, held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 28, 2025, is an excellent opportunity for farmers and agriculture professionals to gather strategies that best support farming operations in Southeastern Illinois. The Southeastern Agronomy Summit is one of six summits provided statewide and will be held at the Edwards County Farm Bureau community room located at 15 S. Fifth St., Albion, IL 62806.

“The Southeastern Agronomy Summit brings research-based information directly to farmers and agriculture service providers,” says Katie Bell, Illinois Extension local food systems and small farms educator. “Attendees will be able to network with crop science experts, local lenders, and agronomists during the event. We wanted to bring applicable research information directly to the farmers who implement it every day.”

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a welcome from Extension County Director, Tara Buerster. Beginning at 9 a.m., experts will speak on the following topics:
