Illinois 4-H Foundation Inducts 2019 Hall of Fame Class

Logan Menard Sangamon Hall of Fame Inductees 2019

The Illinois 4-H Foundation annually recognizes 4-H volunteers for exemplary service to the Illinois 4-H program.  This year, 75 new members were inducted into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame during a celebration Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield.

Angie Barnard, Illinois 4-H Foundation Executive Director states “These long-time volunteers fully embody what 4-H strives to instill in youth. They are caring, dedicated, generous leaders, and the Illinois 4-H Foundation is extremely proud to be able to provide this honor to each and every one of them to thank them for their service to this wonderful organization.”

“As a result of these volunteers’ years of service and leadership to Illinois 4-H,” Barnard said, “the program they love will continue to create wonderful opportunities for the young people whose lives it touches.”

Included in the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame Class of 2019 was Pam Tibbs from Logan County, Mark Schreiner from Menard County, and David Morrison from Sangamon County.

Pam Tibbs is a 15 year leader of the Hollander’s 4-H club, Logan County 4-H Foods Superintendent, an instrumental member of the Logan 4-H Alumni Committee as well as MC/announcer of the annual Logan 4-H Achievement & Recognition Program.  In addition, Pam has chaperoned Citizenship Washington Focus trips and state events in the past.

Mark Schreiner was a 10 year 4-H member in Logan County, and a 6 year 4-H Club Leader of Greenview Boosters 4-H Club in Menard County. He has been a strong supporter of the youth and events in the livestock area; serving on the Menard County Livestock Committee for 9 years, and assisting with the Swine Show and Livestock Sale multiple years.

David Morrison was a 10 year member of Island Grove 4-H Club, and 14 year Co-Leader for West Side 4-H Club in Sangamon County. He has been a strong supporter of the youth and events in the livestock area; serving on the Livestock Committee for 14 years, as Swine Superintendent for 7 years, and assisting with the Livestock Sale multiple years.

The Illinois 4-H Foundation established the statewide Hall of Fame in 2004 to honor and celebrate extraordinary 4-H alumni, volunteers, and former 4-H staff. Each inductee received a commemorative Hall of Fame medallion.

“The Foundation provides avenues to continue to support the work of Illinois 4-H by accepting financial gifts specifically directed to the program you wish to support,” Barnard said. “Estate planning services are available to those wishing to continue their 4-H legacy.”
