Learn how to identify trees correctly

Carlinville, Ill. – To help the public learn more about identifying trees, University of Illinois Extension, Horticulture Educator, Andrew Holsinger will host an interactive three-part educational series designed to provide an overview of tree identification. The Tree Identification Education Series will offer the opportunity for participants to identify trees with training and practice. The series will be held at the Blackburn College Auxiliary Dining Rooms in the Demuzio Campus Center on three different dates: Sept. 30, Oct. 7, and Oct. 14 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

 

The three sessions will include:

September 30 – Introduction to tree identification; This session will look at the key identification characteristics of trees.

October 7 – Learn about a variety of different trees and how to identify them.

October 14 – This session will be focused towards youth – youth groups and individuals are encouraged to attend.

 

Each session will have the first hour with an instructional presentation and the second hour will be spent outdoors on the campus as a hands-on instructional session.
