SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Local 4-H members will put their passion and hard work on display during the Sangamon County 4-H shows taking place June 24-25 at the Sangamon County Fairgrounds in New Berlin. The public is invited to see what the 4-H members have accomplished in their project work throughout this past year.

In 4-H, projects are a way for members to learn about what interest them. Projects spark members to follow their passions, interests, and talents on a path to career development, enjoyment, and belonging. 4-H shows serve as learning opportunities for youth to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have gained with judges who provide guidance as youth work toward mastery in their project areas.

“For 4-H'ers, county shows are not just fun annual events. When they show their projects, they are demonstrating the knowledge and skills they've gained throughout the year. Getting ready and participating in shows teaches life skills such as problem solving, decision making, project management, communications and public speaking,” said 4-H Extension Educator Carissa Davis.

All 4-H shows are open to the public and free to attend, so the community is encouraged to come out and support our local youth!
