Local teens to serve as state leaders

Two outstanding local leaders have been selected from youth across Illinois to serve on a Youth Leadership Team. Molly Warner of Knox County and Emma Coursey of Warren County 4-H were recently selected to serve on the Illinois 4-H Youth Leadership Team. These young ladies are two of twenty-seven team members who will serve over the next two years.

The Illinois 4-H Youth Leadership team meets throughout the year face to face and via tele net technology to plan events such as the Junior Leadership Conference. The conference provides leadership, team building, and hands-on experiences for junior high 4-H members across Illinois.

Warner and Coursey are involved at the county level on the 4-H Federation Board, a teen-led group that helps plan activities for the county 4-H membership. Both are go-to leaders in their county 4-H program. Their upbeat personalities and passion for 4-H will be a valuable resource for the Youth Leadership Team.

4-H Youth Development Educator, Shelby Carlson says, “These two young ladies will be a wonderful addition to the Youth Leadership Team. They are so passionate about 4-H and helping others. I can’t wait to see what they accomplish during their time on YLT.”  Additional programs provided by University of Illinois Extension can be found on our website
