University of Illinois Extension Event Cancellation Notice: Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties

The impact of the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continues to create uncertainty and concern both globally and here in our community. Illinois Extension is in the process of activating strategies with campus to protect everyone’s health and safety.

This week, the University of Illinois announced a suspension on all in-person events and meetings in campus facilities to protect you and our entire community. Illinois Extension, as the outreach program of the university, aligns with all policies related to public health and safety.

Effective Friday, March 13, all university-sponsored events with more than 50 anticipated attendees are suspended indefinitely. At this time, the following events are impacted by the implementation of this new policy.

 

Confirmed event cancellations

  • 4-H Junior Master Gardener SP IN Club (Macoupin) (entire series will be cancelled)
  • March 20: 4-H Fridays: Homeschool Youth (Christian)
  • March 22: 4-H Archery Practice (Montgomery)
  • March 24 & March 31: All About Berries Series (Christian)
  • April 2: 4-H Sock Bunny Workshop (Macoupin)
  • April 3: 4-H Homeschool Voyagers (Montgomery)
  • April 5: 4-H Shooting Sports (Montgomery)
  • April 6 & 8: Certified Food Protection Managers Class & Exam (Montgomery)
  • April 16: 4-H Shopping In Style at Maurices (Macoupin)
  • April 17: 4-H Fridays: Homeschool Youth (Christian)
  • April 19: 4-H Robotics Team (Macoupin)
  • April 25: 4-H Robotics Team (Macoupin)
  • April 27: 4-H County Night (Macoupin County History Night)
  • April 28: HCE Spring Retreat (ALL COUNTIES)
  • April 29: 4-H Shooting Sports (Montgomery)
  • May 3: 4-H Robotics Team (Macoupin)
  • May 3: 4-H Outdoor Adventures/Survival SPIN Club (Macoupin)
  • May 6: Conservation and Safety Day (Montgomery)
  • May 7 & 8: Certified Food Protection Managers Class & Exam (Macoupin)
  • May 9: 4-H Day with the Cardinals

We appreciate the support and patience with our programs and the rescheduling of events to later dates.

In some cases, in-person trainings are being replaced with webinars or online meetings, or with digital resources you can review at your convenience.
