We will explore the following topics:

“Joy of Seeds” by Elizabeth Wahle - U of I Extension Educator (The first session begins at 9:00 a.m.)

Just like the plants, they are destined to become, seeds can differ greatly in their germination requirements. Join Elizabeth Wahle as she discusses easy methods for meeting those requirements, as well as advice on seed collecting, storage, and seeding methods.

“Backyard Birds” by Paul Feldker (Second session begins at 10:10 a.m.)

Do you struggle with identifying birds? Become more familiar with common birds you can find in your backyard. Some are migratory birds and some live in the area all year long.

“Tool Sharpening” by Ron Wetzel (The last session begins at 10:50 a.m.)

Using sharp tools will make work in the garden easier. Learn how to sharpen and properly care for your tools to keep them working like new.

Registration and refreshments begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 9 a.m. We will take two 10-minute breaks in between sessions.
