
Join us on October 28, 2023, to learn about seed saving and to share native seeds to help promote quality habitat and biodiversity here in Illinois.
Schedule of Events:
- 11:30 am Bring your seed (Note: you do not need to bring seed in order to participate.)
- Noon Sack lunch (Bring your own lunch and join our seed-sharing community to discuss, learn, and share.)
- 12:30 pm Seed sharing begins
What to Bring:
- Native seeds, labeled but do not need to be cleaned. (Please note: You don't have to have seeds to participate.)
- Appropriate clothing and shoes for the prairie and weather.
- A desire to learn and have fun.
Where is it?
- The Owsley Prairie is 30 acres of diverse prairie, wetland, and woodland located between Macomb and Colchester, Illinois. Parking is limited, so we ask you to register so we can accommodate enough parking space. The prairie is 2.5 miles west of the McDonough County Extension office.
- Restroom facilities are available at the prairie.
