Calling all bird watchers and enthusiasts! We're teaming up with Master Naturalist, Lily Glaeser, to offer seven more bird walks before the end of this year. Learn to identify our feathered friends in some of our local sites around Carbondale, Makanda, and Cobden. All ages and experiences are welcome! Binoculars are available for use by reserving a pair during registration.
Also included in this series is a bird sit on September 29 at Giant City State Park Post Oak Trail. Bring a portable camping chair and join us for a morning of fun!
These walks are sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension and are supported through a partnership with Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Giant City State Park, Green Earth, Southern Illinois Audubon Society, Shawnee Chapter of Illinois Audubon Society, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Zoology Department.
Registration is required if the event needs to be canceled due to inclement weather. Online registration for each event will close the Tuesday before each scheduled event. Participants will be emailed the Wednesday before the outing as a reminder to attend. If you have questions about the program, please contact Lily Glaeser at littleglaeser@gmail.com. To register visit go.illinois.edu/BirdWithLily.
