Beaver Dam State Park is located in Macoupin County just south of Carlinville and is situated in an oak/hickory woodland. The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities and picturesque trees and forestry on its 750 acres. Although beavers are virtually gone from this area, the park is named for a beaver dam that created its lake.  Join Andrew Holsinger, Extension horticulture educator, for a morning at the park. Tour the park and learn about tree identification and native trees of Illinois.

This program is FREE and open to youth ages 5-18 years old and their families. Cloverbud aged youth (5-7 years) must have a guardian present to attend program. Please wear suitable clothing and shoes for walking on and off paths.

We will meet close to Pavilion 1 near the playground. Register by Oct 11.

Please dress for the weather. Layers are recommended. In the event of inclement weather, participants will be notified via email and the Macoupin County 4-H Facebook page.
