Invasive plants may spread quietly, but their impact is loud. Thankfully, when other plants lie low for the colder months, many invasives stick out, giving us the perfect opportunity to manage them. To make the most of our cold months so our natives can thrive, Forest Preserves of Winnebago County and University of Illinois Extension are joining to stop the spread of invasives through this educational program: Managing Woody Invasive Plants: Fall Classroom Edition. Join the movement and learn how invasives take over, why it is important to manage these pesky plants, and how to do it effectively.
During Managing Woody Invasive Plants: Fall Classroom Edition, University of Illinois Extension Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy Educator Jay Solomon will lead the group through an engaging and informational classroom discussion.
Managing Woody Invasive Plants: Fall Classroom Edition will be held on November 6th at 6 PM at Forest Preserves of Winnebago County headquarters at 5500 Northrock Dr., Rockford, IL 61103. There is no charge for this program; however, pre-registration is requested. To register, visit https://extension.illinois.edu/jsw or call 815-986-4357 for more information.
