MONTICELLO – University of Illinois Extension Piatt County 4-H and Blue Ridge School District are partnering to bring 4th to 6th grade students a new and exciting after school STEAM club. The Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics club will meet 3:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Blue Ridge Intermediate Junior High School in Mansfield. There will be an activity bus to Schneider Elementary in Farmer City at 5:30 p.m. to help families with transportation.
The first session is the Leadership Squad which will focus on building youth confidence and leadership skills and will meet September 24, October 1 and October 8. Future session themes will be determined by students. The program is divided into nine different sessions. A program fee will be charged for the first session to cover 4-H registration. Additional sessions will have a small fee to cover the cost of snacks and materials. Fee waiver applications are available to those with financial need. Registration closes the Friday before a session begins.
