Carroll/Whiteside 4-H Youth advance to State Horse Contest


University of Illinois Extension is pleased to announce the local winners from the 4-H Northwest Regional Hippology/Horse Bowl contest from Carroll/Whiteside 4-H that was held on April 2. 

Hippology Results
Senior Division:
Lauren Burrs (first/Carroll); Talisa Thomas (second/Whiteside); Allison Burrs (fourth/Carroll) and Abigail Schmidt (sixth/Carroll)
Intermediate Division: Linnea Thorngren (fourth/Carroll)
Junior Division: Sophia Armstrong(tenth/Carroll)

Oral Question Results:
Senior Division: Talisa Thomas (first/Whiteside)
Intermediate Division: Linnea Thorngren (first/Carroll)

Horse Bowl Team Results:
The Senior Horse Bowl Team placed 1st of 5 teams, and advances to State: Abby Schmidt, Talisa Thomas, Allison Burrs, Lauren Burrs, Tea Thomas

Horse Bowl Individual Results:
Senior Division: Allison Burrs (second/Carroll); Talisa Thomas (third/Whiteside); Abigail Schmidt (fourth/Carroll)
Junior Division: Linnea Thorngren (fourth/Carroll)
 

These Top participants will advance to the 4-H State Hippology/Horse Bowl Contest which will be held Saturday, April 23. The primary objective of the Hippology Contest is to provide in a friendly but competitive setting, an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H to demonstrate the breadth of their knowledge and understanding of equine science, and in particular the practical application of this knowledge and skill.
