Earth Day Celebration at Giant City State Park

University of Illinois Extension and Giant City State Park have teamed up to host Celebrating 50 Years of Earth Day! This April marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, so join us to celebrate and learn a little more about nature in southern Illinois.

This family friendly event will include educational booths for youth and adults, with hands-on activities and crafts. Come out and add to our Earth Day mural, go on a scavenger hunt, listen to live music, plant a seed, and more!

This event will be on Saturday, April 11 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm outside the Giant City Visitor’s Center, 1-245 Giant City Rd, Makanda, IL 62958. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to the Visitor’s Center at 618-457-4836. This event is weather dependent.

University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please contact 618-833-6363. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs.
