Join University of Illinois Extension Jo Daviess County Master Gardener Volunteer Laurie Gothard-Zueger for a program on Herbs. This program will take place on Tuesday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office, 204 N. Vine St. Elizabeth, IL. There is a $20 fee to attend this program and participants will leave with an herb planter. All supplies needed will be provided. Pre-registration is required due to limited seating. To register or for more information call the Extension office at 815-858-2273 or visit us online at go.illinois.edu/jsw.
Herb gardens are becoming increasingly popular for many reasons. Join Laurie as she talks about why this is. She will touch on how to grow herbs in small spaces, uses for the herbs you are growing, and how you can potentially overwinter certain types of herbs in your home.
Laurie will also share a unique way she uses branches from her willow tree as a way to hang her herbs to dry. You will then be able to plant your own herb container to take home with you.
