Holly Jolly Holiday Challenge invites youth to create holiday treats

DECATUR, Ill.— DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt County 4-H invite youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade to enter the Holly Jolly Holiday Challenge! Be festive and dazzle everyone with your holiday sweet treats.

Do you make a unique gingerbread house? Or are you an expert cookie decorator? Whatever your skill level, enter your special holiday treat or confection in Macon County 4-H’s first Holly Jolly Holiday Challenge.

All participants must register by December 11. All entries must be submitted to trinityj@illinois.edu by midnight on December 16 and should include an image of creation, the title, participant’s name, and current grade. Entries will be judged based on the following grade categories: K-3rd, 4th-7th, and 8th-12th. 

The top three creations from each grade category will be posted on University of Illinois Extension serving DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt counties website. The public is invited to vote for their favorites beginning on December 18 and ending December 20 at 11:59 p.m. Winners will be announced on Dec.21.
