Local youth invited to attend the “Wizarding World of 4-H” event

Freeport, IL- University of Illinois Extension will be offering a “Wizarding World of 4-H” event on June 28, 2022. This will be a brand new year of magical fun and will take place at the Highland Community College – in Building H-201 between 9:00 am-noon. After check-in, participants will be sorted into their houses, create a broom, and embellish their very own cape.  After, participants will head to the Care of Magical Creatures class where they will make a wool needle felted mandrake to take home. In the Candle Making class, participants will enjoy learning the art of candle making.  Finally, every participant will participate in the Wizard Tournament. They will use their brooms to fly through an obstacle course. Classes will be on a rotational basis.  It will be a busy morning of fun, creativity, and hands-on learning!

All youth ages 6 and up, who have completed 1st grade, are invited to attend this event for only $5. Pre-registration is required. You may register by visiting our website at go.illinois.edu/jsw or by calling the Extension Office at 815-235-4125.  4-H membership is not required. The deadline to register is June 24 and space is limited.
