Macon County 4-H is Hosting a "Back To School Teacher Supply Drive"

Show support to area teachers and participate in the “Back to School Teacher Supply Drive” hosted by University of Illinois Extension 4-H in Macon County. Supplies can be dropped off from August 8 until the end of the day Friday, September 13 at the University of Illinois Extension office located at 3351 N. Howard Brown Blvd. in Decatur, IL.

The National Center of Education reports that teachers spend an average of $480 on supplies each school year. Macon County 4-H hopes to support area teachers by collecting much needed school supplies and distributing the items to each school. Items being accepted include pens, pencils, notebooks, paper towels, tissues and hand sanitizer. For a complete list of supplies visit go.illinois.edu/dmp or call (217) 877-6042.

The 4-H program is provided through University of Illinois Extension and is open to youth ages 8 to 18. Youth learn skills for living by participating in individual or group learning experiences related to more than 200 project areas.
