JERSEYVILLE, Ill. – Local staff at University of Illinois Extension of Jersey County nominated Peace United Church of Christ of Jerseyville as a 2022 Community Partner. The church was selected for its continued support of University of Illinois Extension and, most importantly, the 4-H program. They continue to donate their fellowship hall to be used by Jersey County 4-H for their annual Soup Fest fundraiser. Their generous donation allows us to raise money each year for 4-H programming. “Supporters like Peace United Church of Christ allow Jersey County 4-H to positively impact youth throughout the county and is a valued community partner. We are grateful for their dedication to 4-H,” said Jessica Jaffry, Jersey County 4-H youth development program coordinator.

University of Illinois Extension serving Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery counties are exceptionally proud to be able to provide this award to Peach United Church of Christ and to thank them for their service to Extension. This award is sponsored by the Extension Council of University of Illinois Extension, serving Christian, Jersey, Macoupin, and Montgomery counties. The council plans to recognize a community partner throughout our four counties each year. Extension Council is a volunteer board that serves in an advisory role cooperating with Extension staff in planning, promoting, developing, implementing, evaluating, and financing an Extension program designed to meet the needs, interests, and resources of the local communities.
