DECATUR, Ill.— If you have a young dreamer longing for a chance to perform, DeWitt, Macon and Piatt 4-H in collaboration with Millikin University’s Pipe Dreams Studio Theatre is offering The Little Dreamers virtual performing arts 4-H club this February.
The Little Dreamers virtual 4-H club is open to children in second through sixth grade. This 4-H club is a six-week ZOOM program that will meet on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning February 1. Students will work with current Pipe Dreams company members to learn acting techniques, scene writing, stage blocking, costume design, and other aspects of the performance world.
“The Little Dreamers 4-H club allows students to have fun and get silly while learning about acting techniques and collaborating on the virtual stage,” says 4-H Program Coordinator Olivia Warren. “This club gives youth a chance to spend some time with others, learn from their peers, and create their own production for their friends and family.”
The Little Dreamers virtual 4-H club is free for current 4-H members and $20 for future 4-H members. Participants need to register or call the Extension office at (217) 877-6042 by January 31. A ZOOM link will be sent once registration is complete. For more information, please call Olivia at (217) 877-6042 or email Taylor Davis at tfdavis@millikin.edu.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please contact owarren@illinois.edu. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access need.
