Jennifer Fishburn is a Horticulture Educator with University of Illinois Extension in Logan, Menard, and Sangamon counties. In addition to managing, promoting, and providing horticulture education programs in the area, Fishburn provides leadership to the volunteers of the Master Gardener program, which provides educational programs and service to audiences in this unit.

She earned a bachelor's degree in ornamental horticulture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a master's in environmental studies from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Fishburn is a member of the Springfield Civic Garden Club and the Menard County Garden Club.

She is also a member of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA). She currently is serving as Treasurer for the Illinois Extension Agricultural Association (IEAA).

She co-developed Summer Horticulture Institute for Elementary Teachers, a three-day workshop for elementary school teachers. She writes news articles for Illinois Times, a Springfield area newspaper with a circulation of 30,000 and her columns also are available online

In 2007, Fishburn received the Individual Award of Excellence in Extension for unit-based staff with less than 10 years of service. In 2010, she received an NACAA national award for Communication, Personal Column, Regional Finalist.
