Lorie Schwerer began her involvement with Illinois Extension as a participant of the Home and Community Education (HCE) program in the fall of 1979. Lorie has volunteered as a 4-H Leader for 23 years, sat on the 4-H Committee, and served as an Extension Council member for many years.

Lorie started working for Extension in Henderson, Knox, McDonough, and Warren counties on January 1, 1995 in the Family Nutrition Program. In the fall of 2001, she became the program coordinator for McDonough County 4-H. Lorie then changed positions and became the 4-H and SNAP-Ed secretary in 2005. Following a two-year layoff due to Extension's reorganization, she continued her journey and became an office secretary in Henderson and McDonough counties in 2012. Two years later she became a full-time office support assistant in McDonough County where she continues to serve today providing support to all of our great Extension staff, volunteers, and guests.

Lorie is married to Scott and has three grown children and two grandchildren to which all mean the world to her.
