Illinois Extension is seeking a full time 4-H Program Coordinator to support and grow youth development programs Adams or Hancock County. This position works closely with youth, families, volunteers, schools, and community partners to deliver hands-on learning experiences that help young people build life skills, confidence, and leadership.
What you'll do:
- Coordinate and support local 4‑H clubs, programs, and activities
- Recruit, train, and support adult 4‑H volunteers
- Work with schools and community partners to expand 4‑H opportunities
- Promote 4‑H programs through outreach, communication, and marketing
- Help maintain program records and reporting systems
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and making a positive impact in their community.
What we're looking for:
- Experience working with youth, volunteers, or community‑based programs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in youth development areas such as leadership, STEM, career readiness, creative arts, and healthy living
College coursework is helpful, but relevant experience counts - we encourage a wide range of applicants to apply.
Position details:
- Position: Extension Program Coordinator (4‑H Youth Development)
- Status: Full‑time (100%), 12‑month appointment
- Office Location: Flexible within Unit 14
- Schedule: Includes occasional evenings and weekends
- Salary: $43,000
- Travel: Local travel required
