Katie Baker is the 4-H Program Coordinator for Lee County. She graduated in 2015 from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies. She has worked as an Ecological Restoration Technician for Byron Forest Preserve District and Nachusa Grasslands, an Outdoor Educator at Lorado Taft, and was the Program Coordinator at Franklin Creek Conservation Association. Before joining Illinois Extension as the Lee County 4-H Program Coordinator in 2022, she worked as a Project manager with the Illinois EPA.
She is passionate about the preservation and restoration of natural areas and getting kids outside and engaged in their communities. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, hiking, gardening, and kayaking.
