Looking for a strategy to help you face the challenges of the pandemic, e-learning and the holidays? Join University of Illinois Extension Educator Michele Crawford for Meditation Mornings.

Let your meditation practice support you through the stress of these challenging times. Research demonstrates just a few minutes of meditation a day can reduce stress and negative emotions, stabilize the mind, and increase patience, creativity and self-awareness.

Throughout this series, we will explore the yogic model of the koshas as a map to take care of our physical, energetic, psycho-emotional, wisdom, and bliss bodies. Kosha can be translated as “sheath” or “layer”. These layers work in two ways: they allow us to express our inner self, and they cushion the inner self from the challenges of the outer world. There are five koshas, which we will explore individually, practicing a different meditation for each. While we separate them for the purpose of study, they are all intertwined.

Each session will include

  • Brief introduction to the theme
  • A few minutes of breath work
  • 5-7 minute guided meditation
