Lee 4-H Beginner Sewing SPIN Club

Youth ages 8 and up will have the opportunity to learn a lifelong skill at University of Illinois Extension's beginner sewing SPIN club starting in September. A six session SPIN club runs September 28, October 5, 12, 19, 26 & November  2 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Lee Extension Office in Amboy.

The workshop will train youth in basic sewing machine skills and youth will apply these skills to create their own drawstring bag, book pillow, pajama pants, masks and and item to donate. The office will provide the sewing machines and iron/boards. 

Youth will need to provide scissors, seam rippers, pins, seam gauge and material/thread for projects – kind/quantity needed will be sent out at least 1 week before project and 8.5x11 3 ring binder with dividers (can be a current portfolio if you have one.) Please let the office know if you are unable to bring your own supplies.

There is a $20 membership fee for non 4-H members and pre-registration is required for all due to limited spaces - please register by September 21 or by calling  815-857-3525. For a fun and safe experience, we will be following health and safety guidelines including face masks, hand washing, and social distancing.
