Kids can turn just about anything into a toy. Think back to when you were a child, and you made a fort out of blankets or a grocery store from big boxes. The best toys are unrestricted with no rules.

Sometimes we take a simple toy for granted. Illinois Extension wants to share a week dedicated to engaging youth in play with you. National LEGO® Day is Friday, January 28, 2022, and we are hosting LEGO® Week from January 24-28. We will end the week with a 45-minute online chat via Zoom, where the local host will take you on a virtual tour of a LEGO® factory and you can share some of your LEGO® creations.

Legos are a cost-effective toy with limitless possibilities known for improving spatial intelligence and hand-eye coordination. Follow our Facebook page @uiextensioncce that week for daily posts with a LEGO® challenge, then share a photo of your creation in the comments.

You do not need to register to participate in the daily Facebook challenges, but you will need to register for the special online event on Friday, January 28 from 4:30-5:15 p.m. so we can email you the Zoom link.
