Planning a garden can be a great winter activity for adults and children. Seed starting takes indoor gardening to a new level. There are so many more choices and it is an enjoyable way to garden in the colder months for adults and children.

Join Vermilion County Master Gardener's Jerry Trosper and Audrey Rowe on Tuesday, February 15 at International Greenhouse Megastore, 70 Eastgate Drive, Danville, IL. This program is free and open to the public. The presentation will start at 6 pm and last about an hour with time for questions at the end.

Master Gardeners will be sharing their knowledge on growing mediums, lighting, moisture and other key details. They will discuss when to start early spring plants and how long to wait before starting warm season veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.

Flowers add beauty to the landscape and are needed to attract pollinators so the presentation will also cover annuals, perennials and herbs. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about seed starting and get a jump start on this year’s garden.

This class is always very popular, registration is strongly encouraged as seating is limited and we want to ensure there are adequate handouts. Masks are required for attendees.

University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in programs and employment.
