The annual beef weigh-in and tattooing will be held on Saturday, February 4, from 10:00 a.m. – noon at Milledgeville Veterinary Clinic, 651 Otter Creek Dr, Milledgeville, IL 61051. In case of bad weather, call Jim Ruter at 275-8049 or Brian Witt at 541-6210 before coming to the weigh-in. The snow date is the following Saturday, February 11.
4-H members must weigh-in, tattoo, and EID (electronic identification) ear tag any steer that they are planning to enter in the State Fair Junior Show. To show at the county level, you will need to weigh-in and tattoo any steer or market heifer that you plan to enter in the Carcass Class.
Please register online at go.illinois.edu/4HBeefWeighIn or contact the office at 815-244-9444 by Friday, January 28 if you plan on participating. Please include the following information:
1. A cell phone number
2. The number of animals you’re planning to bring
3. If you will need an EID tag for state fair and the total number needed
4. If you are participating in the Beef Carcass Class and total number of beef
