Grantsburg Swamp

University of Illinois Extension is partnering with Friends of the Shawnee and the USDA Shawnee National Forest Service to host our annual fall Trash Blasts at various locations in the Shawnee National Forest. Small teams of volunteers will collect litter and remove graffiti at the assigned locations. Keeping our forest clean will help our environment and provide a cleaner future for tomorrow. Join us at Cove Hollow! While collecting litter at Cove Hollow we will also be doing some invasive species removal.

If you are a Master Naturalist or Master Gardener and would like to participate in this event, please wear sturdy shoes, bring your own work gloves, wear long pants, and closed toe shoes. Trash buckets and trash grabbers will be provided for volunteers to use during the trash blast. This event is limited to 40 participants.
