Knock out your required YQCA and learn practical livestock knowledge with local experts! 4-H members enrolled in Beef, Swine, Goat or Sheep and who plan to exhibit at this summers 4-H Show, County Fair and/or Illinois State Fair are required to take YQCA training every year and show proof of completion.
Guest Speakers include:
  • Robyn Hendel, Early Bird Nutrition
  • Jake Williams, Harvester Meats
Lunch will be provided by Fornoff Fertilizer.
YQCA registration fees are being covered by donations to the local U of I Extension. YQCA Coupons will be provided prior to the workshop. 
 

Beef, Sheep, Swine, Goat, and Dairy Cattle (if showing live animals) - Statewide requirement is that members in these projects must complete YQCA – Youth for the Quality Care of Animals. Must be done every year they are in the project, to be able to show and be 4-H premium-eligible. Also, State Fair entries will not be approved without this. There are options for youth to attend a one hour, in-person training presented by Extension staff, or youth may take online training individually.
