Illinois Extension and the Oakwood Public Library are partnering to offer an introductory Sourdough Starter Class on April 23 at 5 PM at the library, 110 E Finley Ave, Oakwood, IL 61858. This hands-on class is the perfect opportunity for beginners and curious bakers to unlock the secrets of sourdough!
Led by Illinois Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator Rachel Mannen, the workshop will delve into the fascinating science behind sourdough fermentation. Participants will learn the essential steps for building and maintaining a thriving starter, including feeding techniques, troubleshooting tips, and expert care practices. The session will also equip you with everything you need to get started, including your very own starter and access to delicious sourdough recipes.
