Evening In The Garden and Garden Garage Sale will be held Thursday, July 25, 4:30 to 5:30 pm, at University of Illinois Extension master gardener demonstration gardens, Illinois State Fairgrounds, 8th Street, in front of Building 30, Springfield, IL. Illinois Extension Master Gardener volunteers will provide three garden programs and hold a Garden related garage sale. Shop for gently used garden treasures at bargain prices. Edible Landscaping Tips Using Herbs. Volunteers will provide information on how to add some spice to your life with easy to grow herbs. Tips will be shared on how to: combine herbs with flowers to create attractive containers and/or hanging baskets; use herbs in landscape to attract pollinators; add herbs in your landscape for the beauty and the bounty. Adding vegetables to your garden.  Volunteers will share tips on how to incorporate vegetables into an established landscape, and vertical gardening. Composting and Worm Composting.  Join volunteers for a discussion on setting up a compost bin, and a vermicompost bin. Worm composting is a great way to engage kids in gardening.
