Autumn is still a busy time of year in the garden! Join Illinois Extension for an evening of learning and connection as we explore a variety of horticulture topics. The Color of Autumn Workshop will feature two breakout sessions and a keynote presentation, giving participants the opportunity to dive deeper into subjects that inspire and inform.
Heavy appetizers and drinks will be provided. The program begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.

Discover why early fall is the perfect time to divide thriving perennials. Learn hands-on techniques for digging, dividing, and transplanting, or simply observe and take home valuable tips. - Soil Testing and Soil Health for the Garden – Nathan Johanning, Illinois Extension Educator
Gain insights on soil sampling and strategies to improve soil health for your next growing season.

- Raised Bed Gardening in the Fall – Ann Glosecki, Master Gardener
Explore fall vegetable planting, extending the growing season, and strategies for straw bale gardening. A group discussion will wrap up with bed cleanup tips and planning for next year’s garden. - Go or Stay? Migrate or Hibernate? – Bob Smejkal, Master Naturalist
Learn what drives insect and bird migration, why some species overwinter locally, and how to create habitats that support them through the colder months.

- Trees 101 – Anna McAtee, HeartLands Conservancy
