Learn, explore, and get hands-on in a new workshop series! Join Champaign County 4-H for three fun-filled, educational workshops at the Champaign County Extension Office auditorium (801 N Country Fair Dr., Champaign, IL 61821). Each workshop will be led by Heather Miller, our friendly Champaign County Master Gardener, horticulturist, and agriculture educator.

Each workshop includes an engaging 30-minute lecture followed by hands-on activities.

Workshops will take place from 2-5 PM and cover the following topics:

  • October 4: All About Popcorn
Learn about the history of popcorn, how it's grown and processed for different uses. Includes a tasting of different hybrids of popcorn.
  • November 1: How Chocolate is Made
Learn how the crop chocolate comes from is grown, how chocolate has been used throughout history, and how different types are made. Includes a sampling of chocolate throughout the stages of production.
  • December 6: Evergreens and More
Learn about different natural products that can be used to decorate your home as well as support wildlife. Participants will create Evergreen door swag and a pine cone bird feeder to take home.
