4-H and Pipe Dreams Theatre Offer Drama Program

DECATUR — Is your child a budding playwright or costume designer? Or, maybe your child just loves to be the center of attention and enjoys acting. Macon County 4-H and Pipe Dreams Theatre will offer a 6 - week performing arts program, Little Dreamers, for children in 2nd to 6th grades at Pipe Dreams Theatre on Millikin University’s campus 1099 West Wood St in Decatur, Ill. The program will be 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays October 28 to December 4.

Children who participate in drama programs strengthen valuable communication and social skills and also have increased self-esteem and confidence in their academic abilities. Drama can also help improve reading and comprehension skills.

Current Pipe Dreams company members will teach acting technique, scene writing, stage blocking, costume design and more during the 6 - week program. Register or call (217) 877-6042 by October 23. Space is limited so register early. Email Olivia at owarren@illinois.edu or mdougherty@millikin.edu for questions.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please contact (217) 877-6042. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow sufficient time for meeting your access needs.
