Centerpieces from the Garden

Join University of Illinois Extension Program Coordinator Nikki Keltner for this hands on program. The program will take place on Thursday, August 25 at 1:30 p.m. The program is being held at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office, 204 Vine St. Elizabeth, IL 61028. Everyone enjoys fresh cut flowers. They can make a great gift and can spruce up any room. Wouldn’t it be fun to create a centerpiece of fresh cut flowers from your garden? Nikki will demonstrate how to take fresh cut flowers from the garden and make a beautiful centerpiece. Resources on cut flower care and helpful tools will be discussed along with information about what garden flowers make the best cut flowers. Following the discussion and demonstration, participants will get to make a centerpiece that they can take home with them.

This program is part of a series that is being held. Other topics being presented are Cool Season Vegetables on August 11, Composting for the Homeowner on September 8, Grapevine Wreaths on September 20, and Falling Into the Autumn Vegetable Garden on October 13. All programs will being at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office. Cost varies for each program.
