Electronics Recycling Event offered in Freeport

Electronics Recycling Collection Offered

The Stephenson County Health Department, City of Freeport, and University of Illinois Extension have partnered to host an electronics recycling collection event on Saturday, August 21, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., in parking lot B at Highland Community College. This event will take place rain or shine.

The electronic recycling collection is open to residents of Stephenson County only. There will be a $20 CASH charge (correct change only accepted) per vehicle and only seven (7) items total are allowed per vehicle. Of those seven items, only the following items can be accepted:

Computers & Small-Scale Servers

Computer Monitors

Televisions

Printers, FAX Machines & Scanners

DVD Players, DVD Recorders & VCRs

Video Game Consoles

Digital Converter Boxes, Cable Receivers & Satellite Receivers

Electronic Keyboards, Electronic Mice & Portable Digital Music Players

 

Items not on the list will not be accepted. This is an IEPA approved event and we must follow their guidelines to be in compliance.

Volunteers are still needed to help. If interested, please call Freeport City Hall at 815-235-8208 for further information.

We encourage Stephenson County residents to participate. Recycling conserves our natural resources, eliminates waste in landfills and reduces harm to the environment.
