Gardening enthusiasts are encouraged to “save the date” for Gardening for Food, Flowers and Fun, the annual horticulture workshop offered by University of Illinois Extension. Planned by a committee of Master Gardener volunteers, the program includes a keynote speaker, three breakout sessions on a variety of topics, lunch, a silent auction and materials. “This event is one day towards the end of winter, where gardeners can learn about their hobby and look forward to digging in the dirt,” said Margaret Larson, Extension Director, “the Master Gardeners bring their expertise and love of learning to the table as we plan this event, and it will not disappoint.”
Sessions for the all day conference on Saturday, March 7, 2020, include topics such as roses, backyard organics, photographing the garden and gardening as a family, to name a few. Presenters include Extension Master Gardeners and Educators, as well as area horticulture experts.
