Horticulture for the Holidays Workshop

Illinois Extension and Master Gardeners invite holiday enthusiasts for the annual Horticulture for the Holidays workshop on Saturday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Extension Office in Rockford, 1040 N. Second Street. Participants will complete a make-and-take project that demonstrates how to incorporate natural materials into seasonal celebrations and gift giving.

This year’s project is a Holiday Gnome! Fashioned from evergreen boughs, felt, holiday bling, and tomato cages, these delightful decorations are suitable to indoor or outdoor holiday displays.

Master Gardeners Beth Edwards and Brenda Smith have led this event for the past seven years and will continue to share their knowledge and enthusiasm this year to a maximum of 20 participants.

The program fee of $35 includes all workshop materials and refreshments. Pre-registration and payment are required to secure your spot. Please register by November 11 to ensure we have enough materials.  For more information or to register, visit go.illinois.edu/HortfortheHolidaysRockford or call the Winnebago County Extension Office at 815-986-4357.

If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program, please contact the Extension office at 815-986-4357.
