Illinois Extension Upcoming Programs

Fall and winter are shaping up to be a busy time at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office. Listed are the programs coming up in the next few months. Register now to secure your spot! All of these programs will take place at the Jo Daviess County Extension Office, 204 N. Vine St. Elizabeth, IL 61028.

Join University of Illinois Extension Natural Resource, Environment and Energy Educator Jay Solomon for a Fall Invasive and Nuisance Plants program. Jay will delve into what makes some plants invasive or a nuisance and why fall is the best time to manage them.  The program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 21. There is no fee to attend the program, but pre-registration is requested by September 19.

Join University of Illinois Extension Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy Educator Jay Solomon for Composting: Getting Ready for Fall. The program will take place on Thursday, October 5 at 6:30 p.m. There will be no fee to attend this program, but pre-registration is requested by October 3.

Join University of Illinois Extension Jo Daviess County Master Gardener Volunteers Laurie Zueger and Linda Helgeson for a program on Grapevine Wreaths. The program will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10. There will be a $20 fee to attend this make and take program and pre-registration is required by October 3.

Join University of Illinois Extension Program Coordinator Nikki Keltner for a make and take Evergreen Porch Pot program. This program is taking place at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30. There will be a $30 fee to attend and pre-registration is required by November 23. All supplies will be provided and participants will leave with an evergreen porch pot in their hands.

Gather your friends for an afternoon of decorating fun as the University of Illinois Extension hosts “Hort for the Holidays – Jo Daviess County Edition”. This program is being held on Wednesday, December 20 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be a $30 charge to attend, and attendees will leave with two projects – a holiday centerpiece and a mason jar oil lamp - to take home with them. Pre-registration is required by December 13 to attend.
